Today’s picture is a view from Pinel Island, which is a tiny little offshoot of St. Martin/St. Maarten, in the Caribbean. Julie and I were there as part of our honeymoon several years ago. This has already been covered.
Some of you may know my cousin Deanne. (Marrano, soon to be Mroz.) She is a very talented artist, who also happens to be the one who convinced me to make my own fan page for my photos. Recently, she decided to start using some of my pics as the basis for some paintings. In particular, she is painting this picture for one of her friends. One really cool thing she does is take time-lapse videos of the painting process, so us non-artistic types can see what actually goes in to a painting. Here’s a link to her Facebook page, with the most recent video:
Also, here’s a link to her actual blog, although it looks like she hasn’t posted the most recent video there yet:
(here’s a link to an actual entry about this picture: http://theprittefulpalette.wordpress.com/2009/08/17/its-been-a-while/ )
So, there it is! Enjoy the video and the picture, and have decent weekend! (I wished you all a “great” weekend the last few weeks, so I’m going to save it up a bit this week so that your next weekend can be **fantastic**.)
