Back to the east coast for today. It seems like forever ago, but I think it really was just last fall that I was out in New England. The memories from that trip are a little bit bittersweet though, since the weather didn’t quite work out where I was intending to go (Vermont), so most of the decent pics I got I got on the way there. Like this one, from Harriman State Park, in New York. (It also didn’t help/hurt that Vermont was past its peak by the time we were there, but this part of New York was right in the thick of it.)

One of these years I hope to head back out there and maybe do a bit of backpacking in the fall. Not sure when I’ll ever actually be able to make it happen, but it’s definitely on the to-do list. Someday, right?

(Update: This image was affected by the issues I had with this lens – it was later repaired under warranty. Sigh.)

Notes: Canon EOS Rebel T1i, Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 lens. 1/200s, f/5.6, ISO 200. Focal length: 20mm.

Love how the road and yellow line just disappears through the far back of the shot.

Your welcome to NE any time, I would strongly suggest the Franconia Notch area of the NH White Mountains for your backpacking adventures.

But hey as I write this we are having a snow showers in Southern New Hampshire on April 23rd!! So please lets hold off on the NE fall colors shots until we at least get a day above 70 degrees and a chance for me to get out a take some spring color shots!!

Seriously, thanks again for keeping this site going and for sharing your talent with us.

Oh man, I feel you there. As of last week, we had only had 2 days in 2011 that topped 55 degrees. Of course, I (like many others out here) have a very short memory, so the fact that the mercury topped 70 degrees on Saturday was quite a treat.

Also, Franconia Notch: noted. I’ll definitely take a look!

Fantastic shot, I love the colors and how the yellow road line flow through the shot.
